Juanita Pardue Obituary

Juanita Wood Pardue, 86, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, January 7, 2025. She was born in Madison, Georgia, on August 15, 1938, the oldest of 4 children to Henry and Estelle Hendrix Wood. She was a graduate of Morgan County High School, where she won countless 4H baking contests, and North Georgia College, where she earned a Bachelor of Business Administration.

Some of Juanita's most cherished memories were those of the time she and her husband, Vince, lived in Alaska in the late 1960s. While there she painted many beautiful landscapes and welcomed their son, Erik. Juanita was a longtime employee of Northeast Georgia Health System, serving over 30 years in business management. She was an avid quilter and talented seamstress finding great joy in creating beautiful things. She also enjoyed painting, cooking, world travel, and beating everyone at board and card games. In her retirement years, she loved spending time with her precious granddaughters, Anna and Morgan. She taught them to sew and quilt, cooked and baked with them, and included them in her travels. They were the apple of her eye. Juanita placed her faith in God at a young age. As a child and teenager, she was at First Baptist Church of Madison "every time the doors were open", and later called First Baptist Church of Gainesville her church home for many decades.

Juanita is survived by her son, Erik (Mary Lina) and beloved granddaughters, Anna and Morgan Pardue of Gainesville, Georgia; sister, Clara Smith of Columbus, Georgia; sister-in-law, Nancy Wood of Savannah, Georgia; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Vince Pardue; sister and brother-in-law, Nora and Jim Goodman; brother, Henry Wood; and brother-in-law, Richard Smith.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 8, 2025, at 11:00am at First Baptist Church, Gainesville Georgia. A reception at the church will follow.

The family is especially grateful for the exceptional care provided by the staff at New Horizons Lanier Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to First Baptist Church, 751 Green Street NW, Gainesville, GA 30501.

Memorial Park Funeral Home 2030 Memorial Park Rd. Gainesville, GA 30504 is in charge of arrangements.

Juanita and I were both young brides of 2 of the 7 Pardue brothers. We shared many wonderful, fun times during those years. We became friends because our husbands were so very close. She was beautiful, smart and talented. Eric and family, may your sweet memories of this lovely lady sustain you.
