Daniel  James Henning, 20, of Atwater changed his hat to a halo on September 1, 2013 due to injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.  He was born April 19, 1993 in Merced, California, the son of Bernard and Wanda Henning.  He attended St. Anthony Parish pre-school, Elmer Wood Elementary School, Mitchell Senior, Atwater High School, class of 2011 and Merced College. 
Daniel started his career in agriculture working for Bettencourt Flying Service and moved on to N & S Tractor Company working as a mechanic.  He enjoyed driving tractors, farm equipment, and agricultural activities.  He also enjoyed participating with EVOC, the Merced County Sheriff Department, and doing ride-alongs with the CHP Highway Patrol as a highway patrol explorer.  His future goal was to continue his education and own a piece of land to farm alfalfa.  He spent his leisure time fishing with his dad, hanging out with his family and friends and working on trucks.  His passion was his GMC truck which he spent hours customizing.  Daniel had a huge love for animals, specifically his beagle of 11 years, Buster.  He also did volunteer work with animal rescue.  Daniel was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need, whether it be a neighbor, friend or stranger.  He was known for his dimpled smile, big sense of humor, and serious work ethic.
Daniel was preceded in death by his grandfather William Henning, his great aunt Phyllis Mashburn, and great uncle Charlie Riddle.  He is survived by his parents Bernard and Wanda Henning, sister Jennifer Henning, grandmother Agnita Henning, aunt Grace Radil, uncle Roland Radil, and cousins Mark and Andy Radil and their spouses.
Visitation will be held Friday, September 13th from 5-9pm at Wilson Family Funeral Chapel, 1290 Winton Way, Atwater, CA.   Funeral Service will be Saturday, September 14th at 10am at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 1801 Winton Way, Atwater, CA.   Burial will directly follow at Lakewood Memorial Park, 900 Santa Fe Ave, Hughson, CA.
