Dr. Kenneth Heaton
January 31, 1935 - November 2, 2013
Born in Zephyr, Ontario, Canada to James and Rose Heaton, Dr. Kenneth Heaton. He is survived by his devoted wife and best friend, Sylvia, with whom he shared over 54 loving years, his son, Kenneth Jr, his wife, Laurel and their three children, Lindsay, Spencer, and Chelsea, his daughter Caroline and her husband Larry Melzer (Ken's friend and traveling companion), Cousin Audrey Adams, Brother-In-Law Peter Matheson and Wife Dorothy, Sister-In-Law Marjorie and Husband, Robert Nelson.
Dr. Heaton's distinguished career included ministering to churches from Ontario, Canada in 1956, to the Midwestern states of the U.S. until his retirement in 2004 from the Pacific Northwest Conference of the United Methodist Church.

Pastor/Dr. Heaton, Was a dynamic man of God. He made a huge impact in my life as a friend and mentor to me as a young minister. He always new when to call or come by. He always knew what to say. The advice he gave, wisdom he imparted and the faith he lived will forever be a gift to be used by me. This man has left behind an incredible spiritual legacy to his wonderful wife, kids, grandkids, family and thousands of people. I guarantee on Nov 2nd he heard "Well done, my good and faithful servant." We love you, we miss you and we thank you!

The world has lost a generous helpful person. Although he leaves a big hole in our hearts, Heaven will be an even happier place with Ken being there. Our family has always felt a kinship with Ken and his family. God Bless.

Sylvia,
God has graced each of us with certain people in our lives, many times for reasons unclear to us at the time. When you and Ken, Caroline and Kenny took me into your home when I started college, I felt extremely blessed. You became my second family , and I was honored to be called your "other daughter". Throughout these 35 years, your entire family, and Ken especially, have always been there for me to grow with God through both the devastating events as well as the joyous occasions. I've come to understand that ALL of life is a blessing , and thank God each day for what I've been given. It's not our place to question the whys … we must trust! Ken will be missed greatly by many, many people, especially you and your family. But you must remember, his work here in this temporary world is completed, and he is home now, and at peace. Live for all that He has given you and your family , knowing that you will be together again , in God's time.

Sylvia,

I was so saddened to hear of Ken's passing. All of us as a family have such great memories of Ken, having known your family for 40 years. Ken and you have been such good friends and have done so much for our family through the years -- with the good events (weddings), and the sad events (funerals). In fact, it was only three months ago that he gave such a loving eulogy for Dick. We were so grateful for that -- it meant the world to us!!

He was blessed with a wonderful family and a wonderful life. He will be truly missed.
