Anthony Gullo Obituary

Resident of San Jose
Anthony John Gullo passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday October 9, 2017 at the age of 95.
Anthony was born in San Jose, CA and graduated from San Jose Tech. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy Sea Bees during WWII. He served in North Africa and Okinawa. When he came home at the end of the war he worked for Hart's Department store in San Jose for 25 years. Anthony started a second career teaching contractor license lien law and estimating at a school in Santa Clara, CA. Which exemplified his devotion to detail for 26 years.
Anthony is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Shirley; Devoted children Rick Gullo and Toni Ann Gullo, life-daughter Sherry Long, grandchildren Anthony Gullo, Aimee Gullo, Michael Bianchini and Kristy Afraimi. Great grandchildren Aidan Gullo, Jordan and Ty Afraimi. He is also survived by his brother Joseph Gullo and wife Carmella, nieces Frances Logan and Jo Ann Gullo. Many lives were touched by his positive attitude and gentle spirit. He will be missed by all that knew him.
Friends are invited to attend a Committal Service Thursday October 19, 2017 at 12:00 P.M. in the St. Joseph's Mausoleum Chapel in Calvary Cemetery. 2650 Madden Avenue, San Jose, CA 95116. Reception to follow at The Drying Shed, 402 Toyon Ave, San Jose.

My husband, Gordon, worked at Hart's Department Store in the 1950's. We thought that Tony was the most handsome man imaginable and so very warm and friendly. I remember the excitement he felt when little "Toni" was born! What a blessing he was to so many people.

Dear Shirley, Rick, Toni Ann and family,
I am so sorry for your loss. Grief can be hard, but your special memories will help you cope. May the love of friends and family carry you through this difficult time. Remembering all the wonderful events our families did together when I was a child. I especially loved celebrating the Fourth of July at your house. Tony made the most delicious homemade basting. He was always kind, gentle and very cheerful. Rest in peace Tony, you are loved today and always.
