On my first day of working in the library, in my first week of school at Bellarmine, Mrs. Benson welcomed me with the warmest and most reassuring smile.
Thank you, Mrs. Benson, for making this scared little freshman feel a bit of pride in my work, a feeling of belonging, and sense of dignity.
My heart goes out to you, Mr. Benson.

Coach Benson,
I am deeply saddened to hear of you and your young family's loss. Words do not quite do justice to how important Mrs. Benson was to my success at Bellarmine. It was always great to see her smiling face during 3rd period my freshman and sophomore year! She was always there to engage in a friendly conversation as well, even if it was just a friendly hello because I had to run off to class. I will never forget how grateful I was for her help with my research paper sophomore year. She helped me find a copy of the book Star Wars episode 2 and then delivered it to my house. She is such a wonderful woman and will live on within us. You and Cael will be in me and my family's prayers.

Scotter,
I will never forget the story of your first date with Jeannine at the bookstore.
It has to be one of the most subtle yet romantic tales I've ever heard of in my life.
The realization that you had true love on your hands while silently browsing through the classics section with Jeannine is one of those precious moments of clarity that we Men rarely get in the presence of such a beautiful woman.
If memories like these are the true currency of life then I'm certain that the life you've shared with Jeannine has indeed made you a very wealthy man.
You know after the victory of World War II Winston Churchill was once asked what his greatest accomplishment was.
Without hesitation he answered,
"My most brilliant achievement was my ability to be able to persuade my wife to marry me"
Well Mr. Benson..
I get the feeling that you and Mr. Churchill both have something very special in common right now.
And it is on this note that I'd like to give you my deepest respect and celebrate the life and love of Mr. and Mrs. Benson.
God Bless You Scott.
And God Bless You Jeannine..

My deepest condolences go out to You, Mr. Benson and to your son and family. I can remember the day she started at the library and how we gave her a playful ribbing about her ties to Saint Francis. The time I spent in counterculture class reading of Kerouac's adventures led me to work towards being a teacher myself. My prayers are with all of you in this trying time.

My deepest sympathies go out to the Benson family. Both Mr. and Mrs. Benson hold a very special place in my heart. During my tenure at Bellarmine I had the fortunate experience of getting to know all the Benson family members as an athlete, a student, and a library attendee. Mr. Benson taught me some very valuable lessons as one of his Freshman football players and as one of the students in his counterculture class. Mrs. Benson and I also spent a lot of time together in the library. Most of it was involved her kindly telling me to “take my hat off or get out of the library”. She taught me to be a gentleman and I will never forget the lasting impression both of them have had on my life. She will be missed and both her and her family will be remembered in my prayers. God Bless.

During the long demanding days of studying in the library after school at Bellarmine, it was Mrs. Benson's smile that would brighten the many days when you felt like giving up. Her kindness was contagious and comforting to many young men that were pushed to the limit by the academic demands of Bellarmine. She is a member of the Bellarmine family that will be greatly missed.

Mrs. Benson was always there to greet and aid those in need, most especially at the library where countless students were saved by her hand from the overload most experienced by trying to write a research paper. She will never be forgotten, and I feel lucky to have known her, but also saddened to know that the world has lost such a wonderful soul.

Mrs. Benson was always a friendly face and a big smile around the Bellarmine campus. You couldn't ask for a nicer person to put up with so many teenage boys at one time and do it with so much class and grace.
Mrs. Benson will be missed by so many and a part of the Bellarmine Family is lost. My greatest condolences go out to the Benson family during this time. You are in my prayers.

Jeannine, you truly impacted my life in an enormous way. While working in the library at Bellarmine, you always made me feel welcomed and appreciated, something an awkward teenage kid needed to feel. That same spirit of kindness is one that I have tried to emulate with others in my life. You will always be in my thoughts and prayers.
