John Bull Obituary

John S. Bull Died after complications related to long-term asthma on August 11, 2008. He was born in 1934 in Memphis, Tennessee and raised his family in the San Francisco Bay Area before retiring to South Lake Tahoe in 1998. He had a long career with NASA including training as one of the 'Original 19 ' astronauts and later led organization wide projects in flight systems technology and research for space applications. Prior to his career with NASA, John flew the F-3 Demon and F-4 Phantom II while assigned to the Naval Air Station in Mirimar California. He had recently returned to recreational flying and was more than passionate about his Piper Comanche 250 and short trips with friends and family to and from the South Lake Tahoe airport. We will remember John as a loving husband, father and grandfather who lived life to the fullest and always found the positive side of things no matter what the situation. He is survived by his wife Nancy and two children, Scott Bull and wife Ellen, and Whitney Halladay and husband Jason. He had four grandchildren who brought him great joy also. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to CalStar-6, California Shock Trauma Air Rescue at 1901 Airport Blvd. S. Lake Tahoe, CA 96150.
