Joseph Lopez Junior, affectionately known as Smokin Joe, Papa J., was born in San Jose, California on August 30, 1955, and went home to be with Jesus on June 2, 2021. He was the son of the late Jose Lopez Senior and Mercedes Beatrice Solano. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed. He will mostly be remembered for his sense of humor, stories, music, strength, his big hands and strong grip/handshake, his Harley Davidson's, Chevy trucks, his love for the Oakland Raiders, the Oakland A's, and Chocolate, and especially the love he had for his granddaughter Zoe, his Lil love boat. He was preceded in death by his Father Jose Lopez Sr. and Sister Cynthia Bargas. He is survived by his Mother Mercedes Beatrice Solano, Sisters Rose Ann Lomeli & Lucille Urban, brother Michael Sanchez, and his two beloved children, Joey (Candice), Gina (Irish) as well as his Granddaughter, Zoe Sophiah Lopez.
His memorial service will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday, July 17, 2021, at Rohi Christian Church, 2296 Quimby Road, San Jose, CA 95122. Flowers may be sent to Rohi Christian Church, 2296 Quimby Road, San Jose, CA 95122.
