Maria Guadalupe "Lupe" Castro Ocanas 80 years of age entered into rest on January 6, 2018 at her home. Maria was born in Monterey, Mexico on June 20, 1937 to Juan Aviles Castro and Maria Ochoa Rivera. On February 20, 1955 Lupe married Dionicio M. Ocanas Jr. She worked at Hillview Nursing Home and California Cannery for 25 years.
Beloved wife of Danny for 42 years. Loving mother of Danny III, Sally, Richard, Carmen, Donna, and Teresa; son-in-laws Hal Stuart and Tony Cervantes, daughter-in-law Gigi Ocanas. Grandmother of Jessica, Richard A., Christopher, Sarina, Michelle, Melissa, Felicia, Christina, Danielle, Thomas, Victoria, Madelyn and late grandson Richard D. Great Grandmother of T'ana, Anna, A'liyah, Jayla, Destiny, Sophia, Lily, Tyler, Kash, Mateo, Isabella, and Levi. Lupe was preceded in death by her parents Juan and Maria and siblings Angelita, Juan Jr, Anastacio, Domatila, and Francisco.
Friends and Family are invited to attend funeral services Friday January 12, 2018 at 5pm at Spangler Mortuaries 174 N. Sunnyvale Ave., Sunnyvale, CA. Followed by burial services at Gate of Heaven Saturday January 13, 2018 at 11am 22555 Cristo Rey Drive, Los Altos, CA.

Maria, What a beautiful woman. I remember her big smile whenever I saw her . A strong ,hard working mother who loved her family. I enjoyed talking about the good ol days in Sunnyvale when life was easier. She will be missed by many. RIP Lupe.
