Marion Weinberger Obituary

Marion Weinberger
Nov. 4, 1925 - Nov. 2, 2017
Palo Alto
Marion Weinberger was born in Chicago, where she grew up with Russian immigrant parents, 2 older brothers and an older sister. They have all pre-deceased her.
She moved to Palo Alto in 1952, where she raised 2 children with her first husband, Edward Weinberger. Her son, Mark Weinberger, pre-deceased her in 2005.
She enjoyed a long and highly respected career at the Stanford Medical Center, managing billing for the department of ophthalmology.
Marion was one of the founding members of Congregation Beth Am in Los Altos and an enthusiastic supporter of the Stanford athletic department, especially basketball and football.
She volunteered at many community organizations including the Cardiac Therapy Foundation, Theatreworks, Avenidas, Partners in Action at Stanford, Hi-Cap of Santa Clara County, and enjoyed attending lectures, music events, and especially socializing with her many friends.
She is survived by her husband Bernard Greenberg and his family, her daughter Kathy Weinberger and husband Jim Friedlander, 'adopted daughter' Tamara Galanter, granddaughter Rachael Friedlander and husband Jack Burke, grandson Adam Weinberger, and the shining stars of her last few years, great-grandsons Julian and Shay Burke.
A gathering for family and friends to share memories of Marion will held in July.

Marion trained me in the Stanford Eye Clinic. I was just applying some of her training to my job today many years later. She told me that the way to handle a lot of work in a fast paced office is to focus on the task that is right in front of you. That was in the 90's and here I remembering that today. I googled her to find what my heart expected. She was classy, smart, and spunkey. My guess is that she lived to the fullest. I will never forget her. Remembering her makes me smile.

Kathy, I got acquainted with your Mother in the mid-1990 when we did training for Medicare Counseling. Lovely woman, I would see her out and about on a yearly basis. I'm a friend of Lonnie Polizotto. I talked to Lonnie today, 3/14 and she informed me of your Mother's passing.
In sincere sympathy for your loss. Shirley Finfrock

Kathy,
Condolences on the loss of your mother. She surely led an active life and made the lives of others better through her efforts. So easy to see the willingness of service passed down.
Hugs,
Ellen Atwood
