Melanie Gawel Obituary
Resident of Tracy
Melanie Marie, "Mel," Gawel, 58, of Tracy, California, ascended into heaven on June 3, 2013 peacefully at her residence. She was born in Chicago, Illinois the daughter of the late Stanley Thomas Gawel and Eleanor Clara Gawel. Melanie graduated from Palatine High School in Palatine, Illinois with the class of 1972. Melanie is survived by her only son Tony, her brother Tom and her sisters Darlene and Gayle. She will also be remembered by her loving niece and nephews Stephanie, Robert, Danny and David. Melanie moved to Tracy in 2003 with her son and spent much of her time creating the home that she treasured. Being an avid dog lover, Melanie was a devoted supporter of the ASPCA and went on to adopt her three dogs Honey, Molly and Jack. She also donated her time to the Family Giving Tree to help underprivileged families in the Bay Area. Melanie worked as a payroll specialist for over 30 years and loved to travel on long road trips and to Hawaii. For funeral arrangements please contact her son Tony.
