Robert Lee Vaughn, 80, Metropolis, passed away at 5:50 a.m. Monday, Feb. 3, 2025, at Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center with his family by his side.
Per his wishes there will not be any services.
Robert was a retired boilermaker. He was an avid woodworker, who made beautiful furniture. He loved gardening, birdwatching, always had a good story to tell, and enjoyed listening to or telling a good joke.
Robert is survived by his wife of 35 years, Nancy Worthen-Vaughn; children, Zandra Fasolo and husband Danny, Bobby Vaughn Sr., and Levi Vaughn; five grandchildren, D.J. Fasolo, Brandi Fasolo, Josh Fasolo, Bobby Vaughn Jr., and Tabatha Vaughn; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; sister, Doris Henson; brother, Terry Vaughn; several nieces and nephews; step children, Denise Ryan and husband Daniel, Daniel Weith and wife Meredith, and Jason Brooks and wife Jennifer.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, William Cleveland and Dorothy Mae (Borum) Vaughn; one great grandchild; brother, Raymond Vaughn.
Memorials may be made in Robert's name to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1640, Hagerstown, MD 21741. Memo restrict to IL Service Area Only.
