Frances Scott

Frances (Philipon) Scott, 94, of Marlborough, formerly of Sudbury and Osterville, died Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at St. Patrick Manor, Framingham. She was married 56 years to the late Murray M. Scott who died in April 2007. Born in Newport, RI, she was the daughter of the late Estrotios and Fernande (Guillot) Philipon. Mrs. Scott worked for many years for Liberty Mutual Life Insurance and the Goldfarb Library at Brandeis University. She was active in the Thursday Garden Club in Sudbury and Osterville Garden Club. Frances volunteered at the Osterville Free Library, was an active painter, gardener and enjoyed traveling with her family. She is survived by her daughter, Helen S. Draper and her husband John of Framingham; twin grandsons, Nicholas and Andrew Draper. She is also survived by her brother Philias Philipon and his wife Joan and her brother- in-law and sister-in-law Donald and Mary Scott and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Helen Philipon. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation on Saturday from 10 AM to 11AM at the Norton Funeral Home, 53 Beech St., (corner of Union Ave), Framingham followed by her funeral service at 11 AM. Burial will be on Tuesday at 9 AM at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Sudbury. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to the Osterville Free Library, 812 Main Street, Osterville, MA 02655.
