Jacob Jacoby Obituary
On May 2, 1929, he married Millie Ruppal.
She preceded him in death Jan. 28, 2005. Jake was an active member of the Moravian Church, where he had served as an elder. He came to Michigan to work in the sugar beet fields and worked in the coal mines near Unionville before becoming a full-time farmer. He enjoyed farming even after his retirement. A favorite past time was attending sports events of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are his children, Betty (Robert) Brinkman, Bonnie (Jack) Brinkman and James (Mary) Jacoby; 10 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Henry (Lydia) Jacoby; and sister, Katherine Jacoby.
Preceding in death were a daughter, Bertha Houthoofd, a granddaughter, Deborah Brinkman; a brother, John; and three sisters, Rachel Balzer, Eva Balzer and Elizabeth Jacoby.
Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday morning, May 17, 2007 at the Moravian Church with the Rev. Glenn Heintzelman officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. The family has suggested memorials to the Moravian Church. Funeral arrangements were conducted by the Unionville Funeral Chapel, Unionville.
