Travis Paul Baur

Travis Paul Baur, 27, of Bay Port, died Friday, Nov. 10, 2017, of injuries received in an automobile accident near Elkton. He was born April 6, 1990, in Bay City, to Duane and Shelley (Ritter) Baur. He graduated from Lakers High School in 2008 and then received an engineering degree from Michigan Tech. He married Emily Schinnerer on Aug. 12, 2017, at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Bad Axe. Travis worked as an engineer at Walbro in Cass City. He enjoyed hunting, playing piano and guitar, boating and snowmobiles. He was a loving husband and son. Travis especially enjoyed his army of friends and family. His happiness originated from the joy he instilled in others. His genuine smile brightened any room he entered. Whenever there was a need, Travis was the first one there to fulfill that need. Surviving are his wife Emily; parents Duane and Shelley of Bay Port; sister Keeley of Grand Rapids; grandparents Bruce and Marilyn Baur of Bay Port and James and Margaret Ritter of Bad Axe; parents-in-law Lloyd and Laura Schinnerer of Cass City; brother-in-law Andrew Schinnerer of Kansas; aunt and uncles Scott and Shelly Walker of Georgia, Daniel and Rhonda Heitzman of Grand Rapids, Steven and Susan Henson of Canton, Daniel and Mary Ritter of Elkton and uncle Casimer Sikoski of Pigeon; many cousins; and his dog Molly. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16 at Cross Lutheran Church in Pigeon with Rev. Tim Loehrke officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Cross Lutheran Church. Champagne Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
