HARROGATE, Tenn. — John Allen Parker, age 49, Harrogate, TN, passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at his home with his close friends. He was born September 26, 1966 in Middlesboro, KY, the son of the late Tom Whitaker and Donna Whitaker. John Allen was a very loving person. He worked for the town of Cumberland Gap for several years until he became sick. Although he was sick the people of Cumberland Gap knew they could depend on him to help with anything that was needed. He enjoyed helping people and that's what kept him fighting his battle.
He is survived by his three sisters, Scarlette Whitaker, Sylvia "Buffy" (Mike) Nelson, Susan Whitaker; nephew, Jonathan Whitaker; niece, Whitney Whitaker; aunts, Pat (Paul) Snyder and Brenda Collette; special friends, Jim Mills, Michelle Iovine; and a host of cousins and friends. The family would like to thank everyone that helped John Allen during the time that he was sick.
Memorial service is 6 p.m., Sunday, February 28, 2016 at First Baptist Church in Cumberland Gap, TN.

So glad that I met this wonderful person, I really hate that his life was taken at early age but I believe God takes special angels early and he saw John Allen as getting tired of fighting that ugly "C" battle. .R.I.P. JOHN we will miss u dearly
