Richard Peak Obituary

Richard L. Peak, 65, of Fort Madison, passed away at 6:05 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, 2021, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center, Fort Madison.

He was born on Dec. 11, 1955, in Fort Madison, to Richard and Margaret Johnson Peak. Richard married Robin Keel and they later divorced. He then married Cindy Lou Manewal on Feb. 7, 1987, in Fort Madison, and she passed away on Nov. 11, 2017.

He worked production at Fruehauf. He enjoyed music, working on computers and taking weekend drives to check out local stores.

Survivors include three daughters, Shannon (Todd) Smith of West Point, Jessica (Lucas) Christopher of St. George, GA, and Danielle (Jason) Riggen of Simi Valley, Calif.; seven grandchildren, Kynlee and Paxton Smith, Kallie, Darren, Ashton, Raven and Keyauna; one sister, Cheryl (Bill Freeman) Schade of Cassville, Mo.; and his special friend, Rhonda Chamlee of Fort Madison.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Cindy.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 4, 2021, at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory, with Nancy St. Clair officiating. The family will meet with friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
