Wayne Burton Obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Wayne Lindsay Burton. Born on August 22, 1947, in Hamilton, Montana to Vernon and Margaret Burton. Wayne lived a life marked by dedication, love, and service until his peaceful departure on March 17, 2024.
Wayne learned the benefits of hard work from an early age growing up on a dairy farm in Stevensville. After graduating from Stevensville High School, Wayne proudly served for six years in the Army National Guard, where he earned certifications as a sharpshooter and marksman. Following his honorable discharge from military service, Wayne dedicated himself to serving his community by working at Missoula County Public Schools until retirement, positively impacting the lives of countless youths.
Wayne was a passionate runner, training diligently and competing in numerous races over the years. His dedication to health and fitness was matched by his pursuit of knowledge. Wayne earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology from the University of Montana, always striving to better himself and the world around him.
Wayne's love for the Lord Jesus Christ was evident in every aspect of his life. He made the scriptures his constant companion, embodying the teachings he held dear. His kindness and generosity touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Wayne's great sense of humor and loving nature made him beloved by all.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Margaret (Berko) Burton, and his sister, Dayle Renee Daniels. He preceded his brother, Willis Murdock Burton (d. 4/30/2024), in death. Wayne's memory will be cherished by his extended family, friends, and all who were fortunate to know him.
Wayne was interred alongside his parents in Riverside Cemetery, Stevensville, Montana, a fitting resting place for a man who dedicated his life to service, love, and his Savior Jesus Christ.
Wayne Lindsay Burton was a good and honorable man, worthy of emulation. May his soul rest in eternal peace.

As one of Wayne's classmates I remember how quiet he was, always pleasant. I encountered him years later at Big Sky High School and it was my pleasure to visit with him.
