David Price
March 18, 1924 - February 27, 2021
Escalon , California - David Trevoy Price, 96, of Escalon, California, passed away on February 27, 2021.
Dave was born in Oakland, California, on March 18, 1924, to the late Daniel Rhys Price and Edith Price. He briefly attended Four Tree Elementary School and Escalon High School and went on to become a prominent Central Valley businessman, an avid airplane pilot, dog rescuer and a great friend to many.
Dave was married to Erlene Kay Price on July 14, 1979. He was previously married for 31 years to the late Claire Marie Price of Escalon.
Dave was an amazing and generous man. He loved being his own boss and in his lifetime created four successful businesses, two of which he managed up to the day he passed. He loved to fly and owned nine different airplanes over the years and built a landing strip next to his home. He loved to innovate and was a Central Valley pioneer in laser–aided land grading and in deep ripping for grapes and trees with CAT D10s and D11s. He loved to make people happy and took family and friends on ocean cruises to Alaska, Mexico and Hawaii as many as three times a year. He quietly gave more to worthy charities and individuals than probably anyone will ever know. He loved dogs and sheltered as many as 25 abandoned canines at his Escalon ranch.
Dave is survived by his wonderful wife Erlene plus his sons Noel David Price, wife Rebecca Santini Price, and Dwight Timothy Price, wife Stacey Bovero Price, and three daughters, Melinda Claire Price, Christine Kay Gilstrap and Carla Pauline Green.
Dave is survived by seven grand children: Kara Green, Diana Cain, Sam Guilliams, Rianna Stoll, Georgia Briscoe Price, Wren Dylan Malone and Kellon Simon Malone. Dave had one other grandchild, the late Regan Noel Freitas.
Dave is survived by ten great grand children: Serena Green, Mercy Cain, Anaya Cain, Jubilee Cain, Nathan Cain, Aaron Frietas, Ashton Freitas, Blake Freitas, Magnolia Stoll and Becket Stoll.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, March 9, 4PM-7PM, at Deegan Funeral Chapel, 1441 San Joaquin Street in Escalon.
A graveside funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 10, 10AM, at Burwood Cemetery, 28320 East River Road, Escalon.
