Sweetheart that she was Evie was born in Dewar, OK on Valentines Day 2-14-1914. She joined her family waiting for her in heaven on 12-21-2012, including her parents Thomas and Lola Ryan, her husband Carl B. White of 53 years who passed on 4-11-1988, her daughter Carole White-Ruiz-Smith who passed on 10-10-2009, and her sister Gloria Ryan who passed 9-5-2006.
Evelyn leaves behind her son Marvin (Pat) White and his wife Margaret of Coeur D alene, Id. Son-in-law Murdock Smith of West Sacramento, grandsons Shawn P. White and wife Christine of Post Falls, ID. Ron Ruiz and his wife Krissy of West Sacramento and Randy Ruiz and wife Malinda of Sacramento. Great grandchildren Taylor and Dylan Ruiz, and Cammy White. Granddaughter Tamara Roozekrans of Spokane, WA. Estranged grandchildren Rhonda, Ashley and Tanner Graf.
Evelyn was raised in Henrietta, Ok and moved to Modesto, Ca in 1935, where she met and married Carl B. White. She had two children, Carole Sue and Marvin Patrick who were born in Modesto. Evelyn was an excellent seamstress and worked on many of the band uniforms for Downey H.S. in the 1950's. She also worked at Modesto Library for many years and especially enjoyed reading for the children's story hour. She loved her garden and family and was a wonderful cook and such a joy to be with. We know she is in a better place now where there is no more pain or tears. We loved her so much and will  miss her, but take comfort in knowing one day we will see her and all of our loved ones again.
There will be no services at her request. There will be a private memorial in Modesto, Ca. at a later date.
