I was so sorry to hear this. I was planning on coming to Turlock to to surprise him while getting my hair cut.

I will never forget Ruben, he was a great friend. He helped me get my first job and trained me, later he was my barber. Ruben was an amazing and beautiful person. Our deepest sympathy, you are in our prayers during this difficult time.

Ruben was my barber for many years and not only was he the best barber I’ve ever had, I also considered him a friend. Often, I’d be in his shop for well over an hour for haircut because we’d laugh and carry on and he would stop in the middle of the haircut to dig out an outdoor magazine to show me an article about fishing or draw me a picture to show me how to properly bait a hook to catch trout. I still have those drawings in my tackle box 25 years later. If I was lucky enough to be his last customer on Saturday, we’d both have a beer while he cut my hair. A great barber but an even a nicer guy. My condolences to his family.
