Tharold Dill Obituary
Feb 1918 ~ Jun 2014
Tharold was born in Bixby, Oklahoma to Pierce and Hester Dill in 1918 and passed into his loving Father's arms surrounded by his loving family at the age of 96 in Turlock. He attended Bixby High School before moving to Casa Grande, AZ where he met Elaine Darr and they married in1938. Tharold worked as a plumber in Arizona before they settled in Turlock in 1951and he became a farmer until his retirement. After retirement he opened Dill's Statuary on Lander in Turlock. He enjoyed woodworking, traveling by R.V. but most importantly he loved his family. Tharold was a member of Fellowship Bible Chapel in Turlock.
He is survived by his loving wife of 76 years; children Sandra (David) Fox of Turlock, Tharold "Terry" James Dill II of Boron and Ronna Bond of Turlock; siblings Jody Johnson and June Land both of Folsom; twelve grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. Tharold is preceded in death by his son Dennis Dill; brothers Kenneth Dill and Carl Dill and granddaughter Susan Fox.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Fellowship Bible Chapel 501 E Canal Dr. Turlock, CA 95380 or Christian Berets 1317 Oakdale Rd. #340 Modesto, CA 95355.
Viewing will be held on Sunday, June 29, 2014 from 1:00-5:00p.m. at Allen Mortuary. Celebration of life service will be held at Fellowship Bible Chapel in Turlock on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at 11:00a.m. Interment will be at Mountain View Cemetery in Arizona on July 3, 2014 at 11:00a.m. Please share your memories at

He was the sweetest, most loving man, and the best Poppo (Grandfather) in the world. I grew up with him and Granny in my life and wasn't a blood relative. It didn't matter to them they always treated me like one of thier own. I loved you Poppo and will miss you deeply.
