Dennis Barnett Obituary
Family was very important to Dennis. More than anything in this world, Dennis, adored his three sons. He cherished the time he spent with them. He also was extremely close to his brothers, often taking time to pick up the phone and connect. Dennis loved to be outdoors and one of his favorite pastimes was fishing. An avid sports fan, he enjoyed playing football and basketball and loved to watch his favorite athlete: Michael Jordan.
Dennis had a passion for music, with rap being his favorite. Quite often, one could hear Dennis loudly blaring Eminem. In his spare time, he liked to play video games.
Dennis Wayne Barnett, age 25, of Monroe passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at his home.
His passing was preceded by his parents; one brother, Michael Keith Barnett; a sister, Jennifer Rose Barnett and most recently, his best friend Blake Wingle.
To cherish his memory, Dennis leaves his three sons: Tyler Barnett of Oscoda, Dennis Wayne Barnett Jr. of Monroe and Denver Allen Barnett of Monroe; four brothers: Brian Joseph Barnett of Monroe, John Jerold (Regina) Barnett of Monroe, Bruce James Barnett of Monroe, and Daniel Eugene Barnett of Oscoda, and one sister, Kandie Holton of Monroe.
Friends may gather from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. Thursday, April 20, 2017, at Merkle Funeral Service, South Monroe; 14567 S. Dixie Hwy. (734) 241-7070. A celebration of his life will follow at 12 p.m., also at Merkle's, with Pastor Dale Hayford of Crosswalk Community Church officiating. Procession will follow to Roselawn Memorial Park in LaSalle for burial.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family to assist with funeral expenses. Online guests may leave words of comfort and inspiration, share a photo or send a floral arrangement by visiting www.merklefs.com.
