Had not noticed his year of birth. Same as mine. He passed WAY too soon, but I guess Heaven never has enough good souls and he was needed there as well. A good and faithful servant enjoying God's blessings still.

Thanks to each of you for your kind words and sharing of memories. He is lovingly remembered each and every day. It means so much to know others have cared enough to write.

I am sure Nancy and her family are comforted by these posts, as are Steve , David and I.

Heaven has a big piece of our hearts - Rest in Paradise dear George. Thank you for being the light of our lives during your all too short Earthly journey.

My husband and I were at the Defense Language Institute with George. My husband shared Chinese classes with him, and I was studying Russian. He came to our taekwondo classes, as well. He was a force to be reckoned with, and I have a lot of very lovely memories of our time stationed together. I found this site after an evening of reminiscing, wondering what had happened to our friends over the years. May his memory remain a blessing.

George and I attended Julia Ward Howe School together. We graduated in the 8th grade.
My family decided to move to the western suburbs
I graduated from Willowbrook high school in Villa Park
I caught up with George a few years ago on Facebook and it's only recently that I found out that he had passed away and this is so sad because George and I were really good friends in grade school when I've missed him for a long time

I met George many years ago, around 1990, when he was working in a jewelry store at Northridge Mall in Salinas. I was a security guard there. He was an amazing man and we became very good and close friends. I frequently hung out with him and his son, David, who was just in middle school at the time. He loved his kids a great deal. I am sorry to hear about his passing. He was an amazing man.

I remember George as a devoted husband. My favorite story is when Nancy dropped a tiny bead in the church parking lot, and George was out there trying to find it! Wow, what a sweetheart.
