To Jimmy's Family: I grew up next door to Jimmy in Smithers and was very saddened to learn of his death. I last saw him when his Mom died. Karen Sue and I are the same age. I admired him as a youngster and the very few times I saw him as an adult or talked about him with Karen Sue, I admired him even more. I am so very sorry and your family is in my prayers.

Mrs. Toney,
I am sorry for your loss. Jimmy was one of my closest friends growing up in Smithers WV. May God bless you and your family in his loss.

Jimmy and I were life-long friends. He was a year ahead of me in school and lived beside my grandmother in Smithers. I last saw him in Smithers Kroger several years ago - the first time I'd see him in many years. We exchanged e-mail, pics of grandkids, nature pics, stories about our hometown. What a shock when I read his obituary. I was wondering why I hadn't heard from him in 1 1/2 weeks. He was a wonderful friend and I keep all of you in my prayers. I truly miss my good friend. gail

He was "Jimmy" to me. We practically grew up together (13 months separated us) and he was more like a brother than a nephew. We had lots of long phone talks and I miss him already.

I met Jim forty years ago when we were both young Air Force NCOs at Yokota AB in Japan. Jim and his wife and my wife and I were almost inseparable in those days. Time and distance eventually took their toll. Although we haven't seen each other in nearly thirty years, we kept in touch, talked on the phone once in a while, and emailed often. We are thinking about Kaoru, James, Ken and their families. I had always hoped we could get together one more time. We have lost a dear friend. Sayonara, Toney-san.
