Stephen Nannini Obituary

Stephen Allen Nannini
March 13, 1953 ~ December 13, 2011
PACIFIC GROVE - Stephen Allen Nannini, age 58, well-known business owner in Monterey, CA, passed away on December 13, 2011.
Steve was born in Merced, CA on March 13, 1953. After graduating from high school, he moved to Southern California where he became an avid race car driver and spent his time building race cars for a living. After a racing accident, Steve ended his racing career, married his high school sweetheart, Debbie Fredrickson, and moved to the Monterey Peninsula, where he desired to raise his family and start a business. He founded Metal Specialties in 1980, which he owned and operated for thirty years until he retired in 2010.
Steve led a busy life, dedicated to his family and his business. He was well liked by all his acquaintances and respected by all his employees. If he wasn't busy at the shop or with his children, Steve could be found riding his bike, flying his model airplanes, or drawing up plans in his garage. He loved to travel and visit our nation's historical sites. Steve was known for his sense of humor as well as his overwhelming generosity as a father, friend, and employer. From pursuing a racing career to building a successful business, Steve knew no other life than following his dreams.
Steve was preceded in death by his father, Julio George Nannini; his sister, Gloria Nannini; and his nephews, Kevin and Brian Nannini. He is survived by his children, Marie (Hunter) Cuneo and Adam Nannini; grandson, John Cuneo; mother, Adelaide Nannini; brother, Dave (Suzy) Nannini; and many nieces and nephews.
Steve will be sadly missed by his children and all his extended family as well as his many friends.
Requiem Mass will be held at the Mission San Juan Bautista at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 17, located at 406 Second Street, San Juan Bautista, CA 95045. Arrangements through Mission Mortuary of Monterey. Donations may be made to the Kevin and Brian Nannini Memorial Scholarship Fund at Merced Schools Credit Union, P.O. Box 1349 Merced 95341.

Our deepest sympathies go out to the Nannini Family. Steve was an amazing man, successful businessman and loyal friend. We have missed his presence in the shop and will continue to miss him in his passing. Each of us at Metal Specialties has wonderful memories of Steve and his humor. Steves phrases and laughter linger in the shop and will conitue to indefinitely. We will always remember and appreicate all that he did to build this successful company and his name will always live on as a testament to his hardwork and dedication. It was a privilege to know him and work with him.
We pray for Steve's final peace and for his family and friends to find comfort in his peace.
Much Love & Prayers
John & Heather Dotto
And all of the Metal Specialties Crew

I am sending my deepest sympathies to Steve's family. His sister Gloria was one of my dearest friends and we spent quite a bit of time with Steve both in Monterey and Merced. He was such a wonderful guy with lots of smiles and laughs and brotherly advice. I am sad that he is gone. Sending thoughts and prayers to the entire Nannini family. Sincerely, Trish Procetto
