William Shook Obituary

Mr. William "Bill"Earl Shook, 69, of Rutherford College, went to his Heavenly Home, Friday Jan. 8, 2021.
Mr. Shook was born Sept. 8, 1951, in Burke County, a son of the late Huitt O'Neil and Ethel Queen Shook. He retired from the Electrical Department of the City of Morganton and was a retired volunteer with the Valdese Fire Department. Bill loved the Lord and his church, Abee's Chapel Baptist past Church, where he served as a Deacon, choir member, Sunday school teacher, Bible school teacher and Youth Camp leader. Bill's love for everyone was returned by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Bob Shook; sister-in-law, JoAnn Shook; brother-in-law, Dickie Baker; and father-in-law, Mack Willis.
Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Martha Willis Shook; son, Benjamin E. Shook and wife, Melia, of Fort Mill, S.C.; daughter, Amy S. Spangler and husband, Eric of Hickory; grandchildren, Lily Spangler, William Spangler and Baby S; sister, Sharon Hudson and husband, James; brother, Jack Shook; mother-in-law, Thelma Willis; sisters-in-law, Elaine Shook, Melba Baker; brothers-in-law, Mack Willis Jr. and Jonathan Willis; and a number of precious nieces and nephews.
A service of celebration with everyone remaining in their cars will be held at 3 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 13, at Abee's Chapel Baptist Church parking lot, with Pastor Tony Land, the Rev. Doug Woody and Michael Keener officiating. A private graveside service held for the family will follow in Abee's Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Shook will lie-in-state Wednesday from 12 to 2:45 p.m., in the Auditorium of Abee's Chapel Baptist Church for friends to view and sign the register, prior to the service.

I was so saddened when I saw this post. I went to school with Bill. He was an amazing person ,father, husband, grandfather and all around good one. I remember walking over to his house at times after school all our friendships with classmates. A man that worked for The Lord and an amazing husband to a wonderful lady Martha. He will be surely missed by many, but he is in the Most Heavenly Home with all his loved ones gone before him. Singing in the Heavenly choir. God Bless Martha and the children and grandchildren.
