Ventura Seferino "Ben" Guzman

1959 - 2022

Ventura “Ben” Seferino Guzman, 63 years of age, and a resident of Lorain, passed away February 23, 2022, at his home.Ben was born January 22, 1959, in Laredo, TX where he was raised until coming to Lorain with his family in 1966. He graduated from Lorain High School with the class of 1979.At the age of 16, Ben volunteered at the former Gulf gas station on the east side of Lorain. He continued working for Don’s Marathon for 44 years before retiring. Ben loved people and enjoyed his time interacting with everyone he came in contact with. He was well known and loved in Lorain. He enjoyed his morning breakfast routine of meeting with friends at the east side McDonalds. Ben enjoyed fishing on the Lorain pier and going to classic car shows. He especially enjoyed taking his nieces and nephews shopping for birthdays and Christmas, and spoiling them along the way. His laugh was infectious, often contagious, and will be missed by all.Survivors include his siblings, Joe (Cheryl) Guzman, Caridad (Victor) Rivera, Mary Meza and Stela (Keith) Biczykowski; his half siblings, Lupe, Gloria, Rosie, and Juan Jose; his nieces and nephews, Malixza, Veronica, Vicky, Sylvia, Oscar, Jr., Nikki, Lizzie, Nicole, Tommy, Melissa, Molly, and Maria; several great nieces and nephews; and two great great nephews.He was preceded in death by his mother Esther Ortega (nee: Ramirez), his father Ventura Guzman; and his step father Jose Ortega.Services for Ben were held privately by the family.
