Rchard Wiseman Obituary
He was born February 6, 1938 in rural Cherokee County Kansas, the son of Dana Linn and Esther (Page) Wiseman. He attended rural Stice School. He had been a resident of Frontenac since 1961.
Dick served his country during the Korean War from 1955 until 1959 in the United States Navy. He was discharged as an E5 Boiler man 2nd Class.
He married Anna Maupin on June 27, 1959 in Junction City, KS; she preceded him in death on November the 10th 2010.
Dick worked for Dickey Clay in Pittsburg for 14 years, and then opened Wiseman's Auto Body which later became Wiseman's Discount Tire in Frontenac and along with his wife owned and operated the shop from 1973 until his retirement in the mid 1990's.
Survivors include two son's Joseph Wiseman and wife Janette of Frontenac, Scott Wiseman and wife Judy of Frontenac; 2 sisters Lola Palmer of Joplin, MO, Clara Boulware of Oswego; 3 Grandchildren Jeff Wiseman of Eugene, OR, Shannon Wiseman and Zack Wiseman both of Frontenac and a special friend Gayle Moody of Frontenac. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Anna, a sister Mary, 4 brothers David, Bob, Bill and Jack Wiseman.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday November 24th 2015 at the Friskel Funeral Home in Frontenac with David Duncan officiating. Burial will follow in the Frontenac City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home in Frontenac where friends may call after 2 p.m. Condolences can be sent to www.bathnaylor.com Memorial contributions can be made to the Via Christi Cancer Center, memorials may be brought by or mailed to the Friskel Funeral Home 230 E. Due to the passing of Dick Wiseman, Wiseman's Discount Tire in Frontenac will be closed November the 24th, 25th and 26th. The store will re-open at 7:30 a.m. Friday November the 27th.

Dick was a great neighbor ! I enjoyed our across the street friendship. So many memories of dog sitting, cooking fish, finding a container of chili or soup in my mailbox, sharing my cookies and long discussions on growing tomatoes. It was difficult to leave the neighborhood as he was always checking on the dogs and I. He was a dandy and I'm so glad I got to know this man.
