Curtis "Bud" Johnson, age 82, of Morris, passed away suddenly, Monday, December 26, 2022, at his home. He was born on August 11, 1940, in Centertown, MO to the late James E. and Susie (nee Crawford) Johnson, Sr. He graduated from Jamestown High School in 1957. On June 16, 1957, Curtis married Jana Faye Klatt in California, MO, and the two settled in Morris in 1962. He worked as a maintenance millwright for Alumax Mill for 26 years, retiring in 1994. Following his retirement, he spent time working for Dibble Trucking. He was a member of Friends in Christ Lutheran Church in Morris and enjoyed working on and restoring classic cars, he was also a proud member of the National Street Rod Association and the Good Guys Car Club.
Curtis is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Jana Johnson; his two sons, Jeff (Paula) Johnson and Greg Johnson; his two grandchildren, Angela Simon (Brian Stroup) and Branden (Katie) Johnson; and his three great-grandchildren, Belle Simon Pat Stevenson), Jackson Simon, and Amelia Johnson; four sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews also survive.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Howard, Paul, Charles, Luther, Stanley, and Richard Johnson; sister, Irma Sue Plaster; 3 brothers in infancy, Lloyd, Roy, and Donald Johnson; two half-brothers, Gene and Ralph Johnson; and two half-sisters, Helen Jarrett, and Celestine Cofeland.
Visitation for Curtis will be held on Monday, January 2, 2023, from 2 p.m. and concluding with funeral services at 6:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 1201 W. Route 6 at Deerpath Drive in Morris. Private inurnment will be held at a later date.
