Richard Smith Obituary
Richard "Rick" Eugene Smith Jr., age 58 of Ocala, Florida, and formerly of Mount Gilead, Ohio, died from complications following back surgery on Saturday July 31, 2021 at Ocala Regional Medical Center surrounded by his family.
Rick was born on September 27, 1962 in Mount Gilead, Ohio to Richard "Dick" E. Smith Sr. and Thelma Jean (McCreary) Smith.
Rick is survived by his wife Debbie, his daughter Dakota Suzanne Smith and son Richard Eugene Smith III of Mount Gilead, Ohio.
Celebration of Life will be held August 14, 2021 at Sparta Advent Christian Church in Sparta, Ohio, at 1 p.m. The family will greet visitors from 10 a.m. to time of service. In honor of Rick the family request that visitors wear either a tractor pull or Ohio State Buckeyes shirt. This would bring a smile to his face.

Oh, Debbie, Dakota, and Ricky - I was so saddened to learn of Rick's death, and so terribly sorry that I completely missed his memorial service - I sure would have liked to be there to see you all and give him a good send off. I miss you all - such good and kind neighbors! I will always remember Rick and Ricky man-handling that old heating oil tank out of my basement! Know that Rick is in a better place, without pain, and that he will always be with you in your hearts and minds. God bless you all.
