Bobby Walls Obituary

Bobby Dwight Walls
08/03/1974 - 12/18/2023
Your odds of winning the Texas Lottery may have gone up when Bobby Dwight Walls, 49, of Midland, TX passed away December 18, 2023 after a brief illness. There will be a celebration of his life on Saturday, December 23, 2023 at 10:30am at Midland Bible Church in Midland, TX. A reception for friends and family will follow. Everyone is welcome to come celebrate this life well-lived.
Bobby was born to Larry and Kathy (Hillhouse) Walls in Lamesa, TX on August 3, 1974. He was raised in Lamesa and Sterling City, TX and then spent his teenage and young adult years moving all over the United States with his family, being a part of the oil and gas industry. He left Texas with his family and moved to Farmington, NM, then Casper, WY, Williston, ND and Greeley, CO. He graduated from Farmington High School in 1992. Bobby always aimed to make it back to Texas, and moved back in the spring of 2000, where he met his partner-in-crime Christi (Corn) Walls. Bobby and Christi were married on January 27, 2001 at Hotel Garza in Post, TX. They are blessed with five beautiful children they were raising in Midland, TX. Bobby has continuously worked in the oil and gas industry with his family's business, Resource Production Company.
Bobby's pleasures in life were simple: taking care of his family; cooking gourmet meals for loved ones; cheering on the Midland High Bulldogs, Red Raiders, Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers; visiting the ice cream aisle at HEB with his kids to see what new flavors of Blue Bell they could try; being silly with his kids and their friends; arguing about politics; instilling an appreciation of country music and classic movies in his kids; traveling the great state of Texas in search of the best steak this side of Heaven (Western Skies in San Angelo holds the prize); wearing shorts and flip flops year around; and hunting and fishing as he quoted every line of Lonesome Dove. Bobby was well grounded in his faith and showed those close to him his love and trust in the Good Lord until he took his last breath.
Bobby was always generous with his time and money, and served his community well. He coached GMFL football for many years, as well as Mid-Cities baseball, and also helped coach many traveling sports teams. As his kids grew up, he spent many hours cheering them on and supporting them at Goddard and SJ and Midland High. He routinely volunteered to cook and help with activities for his kids, and he always did it with an eye for detail and pride in his heart. Bobby was the personification of who Texans call "Hoss", a true partner and friend. Bobby Walls will always be remembered as a man with a tough exterior and a heart of gold.
Bobby is preceded in death by his very close uncle, Tbird Arnold; his grandparents, Jesse and Carl Hillhouse, Bud Arnold, and Elsie and Dale Fowler; and his father in-law Edward Corn.
He is survived by his wife, Christi and their five children, Brylie, Landry, Payslie, Addie and Hadlie Walls. He is also survived by his parents, Larry and Kathy Walls of Brownwood, TX; his brother Brad (Amy) Walls of Farmington, NM and his sister Brandi (Tom) Mabry of Aurora, CO; his mother in-law, Gwen Corn of Farwell, TX; his brother in laws, Clay (Andrea) Corn of Dripping Springs, TX, and Clint (Stacy) Corn of Dallas, TX; and his sister in law Charla (Bryan) Barrett of Rendon, TX. He was Uncle Bobby to Zach (Kelsey) Walls, Cody (Raven) Walls, Johnny (Taylor) Stallings, Dawson and Madison Walls, Sam and Jack Mabry, as well as Kinsley, Anders, Jonas, and Hudson Corn, Blakelyn, Brax and Bristol Barrett and Grayson, Everett and Auggie Corn. He was loved by so many special aunts, uncles, cousins, and great nieces and nephews.
To say that we are going to miss ol Bobby Walls and his icy stare for the rest of our lives is a vast understatement. He loved us well. He was a great husband, dad, son, brother, uncle, nephew and loyal friend. The last nine months have been some of the most difficult a man could endure. However, he fought hard, improved, and learned to live again so he could have a few more days with the ones he loves the most, his kids. His faith was not shaken; our faith is not shaken. We serve a good and sovereign God who has not failed us!
