Rodney Barnes Obituary

Rodney Lee Barnes of Houston, Texas died January 13, 2006 at Willowbrook Methodist Hospital from complications of pneumonia. Rodney was born on August 13, 1949 in Guymon, Oklahoma.

Rodney served two years in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. He graduated from Northwestern State University in Alva, Oklahoma. He was a gas controller for Transwestern Pipeline where he was employed for over 30 years. He was a member of Tallowood Baptist Church in Houston, Texas.

Rodney is survived by his wife, Martha Dean Prater Barnes of Houston, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, David and Lisa Barnes of Conroe, Texas, and son Jared Barnes of Houston, Texas; three grandsons, Taylor, Collin and Matthew Barnes, all of Conroe, Texas; one niece and one nephew, numerous uncles, aunts and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace and Betty Barnes and two brothers, George and Max Barnes of Guymon, Oklahoma.

Funeral services were held January 16, 2006 in Comanche, Texas and burial was in the Pendergrass Cemetery at Sidney, Texas. A memorial service was held in Houston, Texas at Tallowood Baptist Church January 19, 2006.
