John Paul Obituary
John Daniel "J.D." Paul, Jr., age 82, of Mount Airy, passed away early Sunday morning, Nov. 12, 2023, at Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mr. Paul was born June 6, 1941, in Surry County to the late John Daniel Paul, Sr. and Susan Belton Paul. J.D. was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Surviving is his wife of 57 years, Nancy Fleming Paul; a daughter and son-in-law, Janine Paul Bowman and husband Michael; a son, Brian Keith Paul; three grandchildren, Hannah Bowman, Jordan Bowman, Blake Paul; and a sister and brother-in-law, Linda Paul Spainhour and husband Larry. Mr. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, John Daniel Paul, Sr. and Susan Belton Paul. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 15, at 2 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy with Reverend Rickey Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens in Mount Airy. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Nov. 15, at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care for the compassionate care given to Mr. Paul. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial donations may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 1427 Edgewood Drive, Suite 101, Mount Airy, North Carolina 27030.
