Daniel Shawley Obituary

Daniel "Dan" R. Shawley, aged 72, passed away suddenly on May 14, 2025, in Bellingham, WA. He was born to Donald and Laura Shawley in Wilkinsburg, PA, on October 24, 1952. Dan traveled west in the early 1980s from Pennsylvania to Nevada, California, and finally put down his roots in Washington State. Bellingham became his home for the last thirty years. Daniel was a loyal employee at Mt. Baker Plywood. Over the years, he enjoyed biking, hiking, fishing, woodworking, watching sports, photography, and golfing. He also looked forward to evenings with friends at the local breweries. He is survived by his loving mother, Laura F. Shawley, his sisters Nancy Wanner and Lynn Wiser, and his brother David Shawley. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends also survive Dan. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Shawley. Over the years, he has traveled to Pennsylvania once or twice to visit his mother and family. His dedication to his mother is unwavering, and he will soon return to her. But Bellingham will always be his home.
