Andrea Margaret Cerruti Mariconda, 73, of Bridgewater died on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at PineAcres Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Madison. She was born in the Eastside section of Paterson on June 13, 1940, the youngest of two daughters of the late Andrew and Mildred Lombardo Cerruti. She resided in Pompton Lakes for several decades before moving to Bridgewater thirty years ago. She was a graduate of East Side High School in Paterson and attended Montclair State University. Ms. Mariconda was an administrative assistant having begun her career as a legal secretary in New York City during the 1950s. After having two sons, she made a transition from homemaker to the workforce by volunteering to create the library for the Lincoln Elementary School in Pompton Lakes. Soon after she became secretary to the Principal at Lakeside Middle School and spent 18 years working with faculty, staff and students. Over the next twenty years, she held positions of progressive responsibility at Dun & Bradstreet Information Systems in Basking Ridge and Adidas USA in Warren. Her business skills in combination with what a manager characterized as the "poise, decorum, and warmth" of her interactions led her to a 10 year role as executive assistant to the President and CEO of Philips Lighting Americas in Somerset retiring in 2007.

She is survived by her sons, Steven Mariconda and his wife, Paula, of Bridgewater and Michael Mariconda and his wife, Susana, of Austin, TX; two granddaughters, Joy of Bridgewater and Eva of Austin, TX; and a sister, Amy Fisher of West Windsor.

A funeral mass will be held at the Roman Catholic Church of St. Bernard of Clairvaux, Route 22, Bridgewater on Saturday, April 5 at 10:00am followed by interment at Laurel Grove Cemetery, Totowa. Relatives and friends may visit at the Layton Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Bedminster on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9pm.
