Lydia Davis, age 86, of South River, passed away peacefully on Saturday November 8, 2014 at her home with her loving family at her side. Born in South River she was a lifelong borough resident. She started work at one of the town embroidery factories making army patches for the war effort, as well as dresses and lace handkerchiefs. Before her retirement she was employed for over 45 years as the commissary manager of family-owned Parkway Vending Company and then as the office manager of the successor business, Parkway Specialty Foods in South River. Mrs. Davis was a member of Saints Peter & Paul Russian Orthodox Church in South River. An avid cook, baker and gardener, she was well known for her kielbasi, mushroom soup, blueberry pies, oatmeal cookies and her love for a good Jersey tomato. She cherished her family and friends above all else.

She is predeceased by her siblings, Alexander Lemantovich who was Lydia's twin brother, John Lemantovich and Olga Miller. Surviving are her husband of 62 years Kenneth Davis, her children and spouses, Kenneth and Susan Davis of Colts Neck, Glenn and Joyce Davis of South River and Tanya Davis of East Brunswick, her Grandchildren, Glen Jr., Kerry , Caitlin and Ken Jr., her two sisters-in-law and her loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday 9:30am from the Maliszewski Funeral Home, 218 Whitehead Avenue, South River followed by a 10am service at Saints Peter & Paul Russian Orthodox Church with burial to follow at Saints Peter & Paul Cemetery, South River.
