North Zulich, TX - Yvonne "Vonnie" Johnson Vincent, 82, North Zulch, Texas went home to be with her Jesus Wednesday, September 27, 2023.
Born August 19, 1941, In Morgan County, Illinois, she was the daughter of Amos and Marvis (Laughary) Johnson, who preceded her in death. Vonnie attended Chapin, IL schools, graduating from Chapin High School in 1959. On June 21, 1959, she married her high school sweetheart, David Vincent. They remained sweethearts and soulmates until his death in 2019. Their 60 years of marriage were filled with many journeys and adventures starting with the military lifestyle when first married. They were gypsies at heart and traveled, lived and worked in so many places all over the world including the East Coast, Arizona, Illinois, Louisiana, Florida, Saudi Arabia twice, and finally retiring to Houston, Texas area.
Vonnie was a prayer warrior for her family and friends and anyone else she felt led to pray with and for. She was not shy about her Faith and her love of Jesus.
Three children survive; Kevin (Debbie) Vincent, Coal City, IL; Douglas (Robin) Vincent, North Zulch, Texas, and Karen (Eloy) Huerta, Dickinson, Texas, 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
She is also survived by 3 sisters-in-laws: Martha (Vincent) Stephenson, Kingwood, Texas, Phyllis Musgrave, Cocoa, Florida, and Catherine Vincent, Broken Arrow, OK.
Graveside service was held on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at the Confederate Cemetery, Alvin, Texas.
