We too are so blessed and are better people for having known and grown to love our blessed Gertrude. Her light and love for her Lord and Savior was always first and formost. She was the first to sing, "Jesus loves me", to our adopted son, Tobias. She always included us in her company when having family over for birthdays and holidays. She will sorely be missed, but we know of the life she now experiences with the Lord in heaven. Our sincere condolences are extended to each and every family member in this loss. May each one receive the comfort only the Lord Jesus can give in these circumstances. We love you all.

Gertrude was such a beautiful and gracious woman. I loved spending summers with Beverly on the Sammanns' farm when we were young and she always welcomed me as one of her own. Many wonderful memories were made in her home, also, many wonderful meals. I remember the biggest breakfasts and best catfish dinners. We will all miss her.

Although I didn't take care of Mrs. Sammons often, she was a delight to see. Just being in her presence made me feel "at home". She was one that you could see the wisdom behind her eyes. She will be missed. Thank you for the honor of allowing me to meet her at the nursing home.

Virginia, Barbara, Elbert, & Jess..I am so saddened by the loss of your Momma. What a beautiful and loving lady she was. I have so many fond memories of her while we kids were growing up together. She will truly be missed. God be with each of you in your time of sorrow.

Beverly, Virginia and all your family....we are so saddened by your loss. I know how much a part of your life she was and will continue to be. But you have the great legacy that she left to you and big shoes to fill. She will always be with you and now she can take care of you where her body won't fail her. You are in our prayers.
