Helena Thomas Obituary

CENTENARY | Helena Register Thomas, 88, widow of Herbert Q. Thomas, died Thursday, July 10, 2003, at Conway Medical Center after an illness.

She was born Nov. 25, 1914, in Darlington County, a daughter of the late Charles Spencer and Erin Rebecca Watford Register. She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church in Centenary and served as an officer of the church and played the organ and piano for many years. She was a graduate of Winthrop College and taught in the Marion County School District for 38 years. She served on the Lay Member Conference and was a member of the Marion County Retired Educator's Association. She resided at Jordan Care Center in Conway for eight years.

Survivors include a son, Phillip H. Thomas and his wife, Rilla Altman Thomas; and two grandsons, Lee Thomas and Brent Thomas, all of Conway.

The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at Centenary United Methodist Church in Centenary. The Rev. Don Steins and the Rev. Virgil Seaber will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the church.

We left Aunt E last Tuesday after
she had made two trips to Hospital.
