Joseph Golden Obituary

MURRELLS INLET | Joseph Moreau Golden, 88, of Spring Forest died Thursday, June 21, 2007, at National Healthcare of Garden City.

Born March 25, 1919 in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of the late Thomas and Anna Golden.

Mr. Golden was a World War II, U.S. Army veteran serving as Master Sergeant in the Philippines and receiving the Bronze Medal.

He had retired from RCA Communications after 41 years of service as a manager.

Mr. Golden had attended St. Joseph's College in Brooklyn, N.Y.

He was preceded in death by son-in-law, William McGinn; brothers, Thomas and John Golden; and sister, Anne Golden.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Golden; son, Joseph M. Golden Jr. of Long Beach, Calif.; daughters, Bernadette Conroy and husband, Kenneth, of Staten Island, N.Y. and Dr. Anne Golden McGinn of Riverdale, N.Y.; and grandchildren, Edward Panelli, Liam and Cordelia McGinn.

Services will be 9:30 a.m. Monday at St. Michael Catholic Church. Interment will be in Cemetery of the Resurrection in Staten Island, N.Y.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel with a prayer vigil at 5 p.m.
