Orin Beasley "Captain O" Stacy
Concord, NC
Orin Beasley "Captain O" Stacy, 80, of Concord, passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2013.
The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord on Sunday, March 10, 2013 from 5 until 8 PM.
A memorial service will be held on Monday afternoon, March 11, 2013 in Little River, SC, at 5:30 PM. Burial at sea will be held by the family at a later date.
Mr. Stacy was born on January 3, 1933 in Connecticut, to the late Oliver Stacy and Louisa Johanson Stacy. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Ericka Cole.
Mr. Stacy was a veteran of the US Air Force and retired from IBM as a mechanical engineer. He was also a pilot, scuba diver, hunter, and an avid sailor.
He is survived by his companion, Ruth Norman of Concord; daughters, Diana Stacy Cole and husband Lawrence of Rhinecliff, NY and Dawn Stacy Smith and husband, Phillip of Harrisburg; former wife, Anna Gust of Concord; grandchildren, Stacy Cole Fell and husband, Stephen, Wesley Cole, Jacob Smith, and Kristen Smith; and great granddaughter, Elianna Fell.
The family requests that memorial donations be made to Long Bay Sailing Association, PO Box 1646, Little River, SC 29566.
Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord is serving the Stacy family.
