Dawn Hall Obituary
Dawn M. Hall
Born: May 19, 1969
Died: December 20, 2021
Dawn M. Hall, 52, of DeKalb, Illinois, passed away the morning of Monday, December 20, 2021. Born May 19, 1969, in Streator, Illinois, to James and Wendy (Wright) Boik, Dawn grew up and eventually started her own family in her hometown of Streator. She attended Woodland High School and graduated in 1987, then went on to attend college at Illinois State University. Dawn had two kids, Jacob Hall and Jenna Hall, a daughter-in-law, Isabella Hall, and a soon-to-be-born grandchild, Cecil James Hall.
Dawn loved to live her life to the fullest extent. Diagnosed with type one diabetes in her late teens, and kidney failure in 2009, she did not let her medical issues get in the way of watching her children succeed. Whether it be witnessing her sons' crazy science projects becoming the gateway into his future career, or watching her daughters' dance and choir performances, Dawn was involved in her children's lives every step of the way. She made sure to extend her motherly love to anyone who needed it, treating her children's friends as if they were her own, and never made anyone feel left out or uncared for.
Just as she loved her human children, Dawn never left a furry baby out of her home. One might call her a "crazy cat lady", but Dawn embraced the title, loving to relax in the evenings with a cat snuggled up on her chest, and another sleeping peacefully beside her. Dawn was also no stranger to dogs, treating her son's pets just the same, and even took to calling them her "grandpuppies." Dawn enjoyed the simple things in life, like spending time with her family, or drinking a hot cup of coffee when the weather got cold. She loved anything that was the color green and was a firm believer that lime was the best flavor for any choice of candy.
She is survived by her father, James Boik; sister, Tammy (Boik) Heflin; son, Jacob Hall; daughter, Jenna Hall; daughter-in-law, Isabella Hall; nephew, Tyler Heflin; and countless cousins, friends, and other loved ones.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at Anderson Funeral Home in Dekalb, Illinois from 2 pm to 5 pm.
A mass will be dedicated in her name at St. Michael's church in Streator, Illinois.
