Died: March 14, 2024 in Maywood, IL
Maria Matilde Macias, 70, of Streator passed away Thursday, March 14, 2024 at Loyola Medical Center, Maywood, surrounded by her loved ones.
Her funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Hagi & Schultz Funeral Home, Streator. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Streator. Pallbearers will be Julio Macias, Mario Macias Jr., Gabriel Macias, Daniel Macias, Alfonso Lopez and Carlos Lopez. Visitation will be held Friday from 3:00 to 7:00 PM Hagi & Schultz Funeral Home, Streator, and from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Saturday prior to services.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Streator Animal Control.
Maria was born March 14, 1954 in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, a daughter of Gregoria Macias. She married Mario Macias in 1975 in Streator. He survives.
Also surviving are 4 sons, Julio C. (Maria) Macias of Streator, Mario Jr. (Julia) Macias of Noblesville, IN, Gabriel (Christina Stephens) Macias of Streator and Daniel Macias of Streator; 5 grandchildren, Julio Cesar Macias, Marcos Edward Macias, Gabriela R. Macias, Abigail Macias, and Edison Macias; two sisters, Lourdes Moreno of Streator and Rosario (Gustavo) Padilla of Chicago; and three brothers, Angel (Enriqueta) Macias of Chicago, Humberto (Cristina) Macias of Streator, and Faustino Macias of West Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her mother and sister, Juana Macias.
Maria was a member of the Iglesia Evangelica El Buen Pastor. She had worked many years at Cargil and Redwing.
Maria cherished spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and loved her dogs.
