It's a little hard to think that Alfredo has left us for a year already and how the time has flown by so quickly. It seems like it was only yesterday when going into the restaurant and seeing Alfredo with his smile and having a conversation and sharing a laugh. I miss him and we think about him every time we go there. When we see Cristela and Pepe Frias and Lisa who has worked there for such a long time I sometimes think I'll see Alfredo (Freddy) coming out from the cocina or from behind the desk or maybe somewhere in the restaurant and then the reality of knowing he's gone sort of hits home but then I smile knowing Dios took him home to see his parents Guillermo y Gloria and that things are ok. His spirit is there. You can feel it and sometimes you can picture all of them in and about the restaurant. They have left their legacy behind and it continues still today and you have to think that they're smiling from heaven knowing everything is alright. Ti amo Alfredo. Te extranamos. Adios y paz siempre. Richie Zasada y Virginia Chavez.

To the entire Frias family:

My condolences on the loss of your beloved Alfredo. "Freddie" was one of my favorite classmates from our years at Humboldt. I hadn't seen him in many years, but one of the last times was at the Boca Chica when I brought family members for dinner.

May he Rest in Peace.

So long Fred, you accomplished what everyone hopes that can do in life, leave behind something so that you'll be remembered. You and your mom and dad, Willie and Gloria leave a wonderful family and a community gathering place, the Boca Chica, that so many have enjoyed and will always remember. Well done Fred, rest in peace.

My deepest sympathies to the Frias family. My memories of Alfredo date all the way back to 1964 when he was about 10 years old. Willy & Gloria always had the kids with them until they started working the family business. You can judge a business by the tenure of it's staff and most retire from there with 30 plus years. That's a true testament to the legend Willy & Gloria left and Alfredo and the rest of the family continued that quality. "Mr. Boca Chica" is a fitting name for Alfredo as you could not go in there and not see him there at the bar opening up mail and visiting with the customers. We will all miss him! God rest his soul.

My condolences to Steve, Cristela & Eddie you are in my prayers during this difficult time. To my cousins Becky, Jessica, Pepe & Javier my condolences go out to you as well you are in my prayers. We are all children of God and Fred has gone home to be reunited with his parents Guillermo & Gloria. As a kid visiting the Boca Chica all three of you always took the time to visit with my family and see that we were taken care of and spent time talking with us that meant a lot to me it showed you truly cared about your customers. You will be missed by all may you rest in peace Fred I'm glad I got to know you over the years you were a good man.

La familia Frias, there's a Hebrew proverb that goes say not in grief he is no more but in thankfulness that he was. I know that your family , our culture and our community is a lot richer because Fred was. May he Rest In Peace and may the fond memories of your Brother , your Father , your grandpa give you all some comfort during this difficult time. Peace my Brother !

My sincere condolences to the family of Alfredo Frias. I spoke with him many times over the years and he was always a joy. He usually had me laughing by the end of the conversation and now I truly wished I had come down to meet him as I had threatened to do numerous times. Please accept my thoughts and prayers through this difficult time.

Thank you Fred for being such a beautiful and warm and personal person for over the 40 plus years of knowing you. We'll miss you with all our heart. Dios has another angel. That, I know. Ti amo Fred.
