Andrew Patrick Davies, 54, died at home on Tuesday, September 20, 2011. Andy was born March 7, 1957 at Fort Ord in Monterey, California to the late Bill and Heidi Davies. After a decade living abroad in Europe, the family eventually settled in Auburn, Washington. Andy graduated Auburn High School in 1975 and joined the United States Navy, where he actively and honourably served as a hospital corpsman for four years. During his military service, Andy was tranferred to Virginia and met his first wife, Carla, with whom he would raise three sons: Ben, Phill, and Nick. After the birth of their first child, they relocated to New Hampshire, where Andy studied for a dual Bachelor's degree in Business and Computer Science at Franklin Pierce College. He enjoyed the natural surrounds of New England, especially while taking his boys hiking, kayaking, and skiing. Andy worked in healthcare administration for many years, working for Elliot Hospital, Tufts Healthcare, and other organizations around New England and beyond. He had a true talent for management, and many of his co-workers also numbered among his friends. At age 35, Andy and his second wife, Christine, had another son, Alex. As they grew older, Andy took great joy in cheering on Alex at his soccer and lacrosse games. His children's accomplishments were a perpetual source of pride for him. Andy was an affable and warm-hearted man, with a terrific sense of humor and quick to smile. Despite a penchant for travel, his happiest moments were often had cooking burgers on the grill with family at home. He will be dearly missed. Andy was pre-deceased by his parents, William and Adelheid (Froelich) Davies of Lake Tapps, Washington. Andy is survived by his wife, Wanda, and her daughter Nicole. He leaves behind his sons Alex of Bow, Nicholas of Newmarket, Phillip of Brooklyn, New York, and Benjamin of Auckland, New Zealand, and his wife Kathryn and their son William. He also leaves behind his brother Robert of Sierra Vista, Arizona and his wife Gwen and their sons David and Chris; his brother Stephen of Carnation, Washington and his daughter, Hailey. A public memorial service will be held on Dec. 3, 2011, at 7 p.m. at Chen Yang Li, 520 South St. in Bow, NH. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Friends Program of Concord.
