Barbara was born in Madisonville, Kentucky on March 17, 1961 to the late Charles and Mary Ann (Hollis) Spinks. She retired from T.J. Maxx after 29 years of employment. Barbara loved animals, especially cats. She was an avid Elvis fan. She made the best fried potatoes. Barbara was a straight-shooter and had a fierce love for her family. She would do anything for the ones she loved. Barbara's fearless spirit will be deeply missed.
Barbara is survived by her life partner of 35 years, James "Mike" Buttrum, Sr.; children, Jeffery Spinks, Clifford "Nooner" Emerson (Beverly), James Michael Buttrum, Jr., and Sarah "Lou Lou" Buttrum; bonus children, Gary "Steven" Moore and Ginni Moore; siblings, Donna Spinks, Patricia Miller (Carl), and Ricky Spinks; 20 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Lawrence Spinks; and grandsons, Jeffery Ray Spinks and Waylon James Bloomer.
A celebration of Barbara's life will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday, August 24, 2023 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave., Evansville, IN 47711, with Pastor Ted Totsch officiating. Burial will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville, Kentucky.
Friends may visit from 10:00 am until service time on Thursday at Browning Funeral Home.
