Bruce R. Gensemer, 75, of Womelsdorf, passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2024 at Penn State Health, St. Joseph Medical Center, Bern Township, PA.
Born December 20, 1948 in Reading, Bruce was the son of the late Wray G. (Miller) and LeRoy R. Gensemer. He and his wife, Charmaine M. Gensemer, were married in Hawaii on April 14, 2014.
Bruce served his country honorably and faithfully as a Specialist in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
Bruce worked as a bulk mail technician for the US Postal Service and also worked in customer service for Pitney Bowes. He was a 1966 gradute of Reading High School, a former member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Fleetwood, and truly enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles and listening to old rock and roll.
In addition to his wife, Charmaine, Bruce is survived by his step-daughter, Kristin Snyder, fiancée of William Lesewski, York, his step-son, Brent Shirk, husband of Renee Shirk, Chesnee, SC, his grandchildren, Brittany, Kyle, Justin, Morgan and Michael, his great-grandchildren, Harper and Bryce, and his siblings, Walter R. Gensemer, Jay G. Gensemer, Donna Groff and Dean Gensemer.
Along with his parents, Bruce was preceded in death by his brother, Jan Gensemer.
Funeral Services for Bruce will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Walbert Funeral Home & Crematory, 14390 Kutztown Road, Fleetwood, PA. A viewing will be held Thursday from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
Burial with Military Honors will take place Friday, October 4, 2024 at 11:00 am at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA.
