Buddy Lee Quinton, 81, of Porterville, CA, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Born on November 2, 1943, in McKinney, Texas, Buddy brought wisdom, humor, and heart to every life he touched.
A proud U.S. Army veteran, Buddy served in Vietnam before building a successful businessBuddy L. Quinton Cement Constructionserving the Central Valley for over 40 years with grit, integrity, and a tireless work ethic.
In 1969, he married the love of his life, Carol Ramos. Together they created a home full of warmth, acceptance, open armsand a back door everyone knew was always unlocked. Known for his sharp memory, legendary stories, no-nonsense honesty, and endless jokes and advice, Buddy was unapologetically himselfand deeply admired for it. He made fast friends of strangers and stood fiercely by those he loved.
Buddy had a keen mind and a deep love of learning. He was a die-hard 49ers fan and found joy in simple pleasuresgolf, Louis LAmour Westerns, crossword puzzles, NASCAR, Quinton Racing, home projects, and Carols passion for yard sales and Halloween. He savored his cup of black coffee and never missed a good mealespecially Judys apple pie, his all-time favorite.
Above all, Buddy was a family man. He had a soft spot for the littlest ones, lovingly calling his grandkids, great-grandkids, and great nieces and nephews his babiesa reflection of his deep pride and tenderness.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jess and Dora Quinton; his wife, Carol Quinton; siblings Billy, Bob, Buster, and Betty Quinton; and his niece, Beverly Quinton Loftis. He is survived by his children, Helen (Rick) Morrison, Tammie McNinch, and John Quinton; his grandchildrenhis pride and joyAshley Cruz, John Morrison, Chelsea Farmer, Krystal Allikas, and Michelle Taylor; siblings Bernie Quinton, Bonnie Guthrie, Katie Martinez, and Shirley Collins; and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, and chosen family.
Though deeply missed, we take comfort in knowing Buddy is now reunited with Carol his greatest love.
