Thanks for your response! I noticed a picture of your dad at Coconut Jack´s. I don´t know if this is a chain restaurant or not, but I was at Coconut Jack´s last Friday evening in Bonita Springs!

I love this photo of Carl & Blaine. We had such great times together. Carl was such a good man, who loved Janet, his family, his friends and God. Carl & I were in the same 2nd grade class together at Stephen Foster Elementary school very long ago. I´m honored to have had him as a friend throughout my life. RIP Carl. We loved you!

CJ Eckles: Yes. Your neighbor was indeed my father, Carl, and my Aunt, Sharon. You have the right person. Thank you for reaching out.

Very coincidental that I had a neighbor named Carl and Sharon Mitchell in the west end of Louisville on Main St. Carl was a few years younger than me. First, I am so sorry for your loss regardless of whether his family is the same family or not. I would love to know if it is the same family. Blessings to you and may you find the peace that passes all understanding

Such a joy to have at chair volleyball and laugh! Funny text messages we all enjoyed. Great person, loving husband, father and great gardener who shared his labor of love with the gang. He will be sorely missed. Prayers are with the family. Brenda Duvall

I hear your voice.
My mind´s eye still sees you, yet my natural eyes fail.
I stare at your chair, dazed.
I just want one more hug, dad.
Did you know Eternity would call your name on Friday? We didn´t. None of us. We´re all crushed, dad. It´s hard. I wonder what you saw as you sat in your patio chair and closed your eyes for the last time. If your countenance bore witness, you are at rest with the Father who loved you before time existed and who provided the seeds you so carefully and methodically sowed in your well-manicured garden year after year. I now understand that you worked so hard in it because you enjoyed blessing others with nearly everything you grew. Everyone loved your fresh vegetables, dad, and especially the witty conversations that went along with every delivery.
Do you know how many people you impacted, dad? I listened to your friends and neighbors speak of how much they loved you, your kindness, generosity, dedication, faithfulness, selflessness, loyalty, creativeness, ingenuity, and, yes, your ever-present wittiness. I already knew these things about you, but to hear so many others confirm it was an overwhelming experience for me. You were truly one-of-a-kind and deeply loved by many.
I saw your sweet note yesterday and the message from Isaiah 43:5 you left for the family. You knew, didn´t you?
Know too that the time we spent together and the conversation we had just three weeks ago will remain etched in my soul forever. Thanks for introducing me to your chair volleyball friends. We had a great time, didn´t we?
Dad, I know you´re not coming back as death is the fate of all of us, but the pain still stings. Grief truly is the price of love, isn´t it? I understand that now more than ever.
I love you, dad. Thank you for instilling in me the value of honor, respect, integrity and service to others. I´ll do all I can to carry that legacy forward in my personal life and encourage it in the lives of my family.
Looking forward to that hug one day.
