Alan H. Nicol V, 60, passed away on Thursday October 16, 2025. He was born in Phoenix Arizona on December 24, 1964 to the late Drs. Alan H. Nicol IV and Patricia Kennedy Nicol. Alan was a graduate of Franklin County High School in 1982, as well as a graduate of Kentucky State University with a Bachelors Degree in Business Management. He was a Security Consultant at Willis Klein in Louisville, Ky for 25 years, as well as a veteran of the United States Army, serving as a Captain with honorable discharge after 10 years.
He is survived by his two sons, Alan H. Nicol VI (Morgan) and Trevor Nicol, in addition to his significant other Sabrina Morgan. Alan has three siblings Kathy Nicol (Mike), Sean Nicol (Celeste) and Scott Nicol (Natasha), in addition to his niece Megan and nephews Patrick, Aidan and Andrew. He was like a Step father to Sabrina's Children Courtney and Brandon Morgan. He was also like a Grandfather to Courtney's son, Linncoln.
Everyone who knows Alan knew he was full of life, had the gift of gab and knew many people. He could strike up a conversation with anyone even a total stranger. He loved telling bad corny jokes and could spin a tale and still not get to the point after spinning one for hours. His favorite saying was "do you want to hear something funny?" which would lead into the tales. He loved golf, fishing, collecting coins and watches as well as going to his favorite place in the mountains with Sabrina and Trevor. It was a highlight of his career when his son Alan VI joined him to work at Willis Klein.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday November 1, 2025 from 11a to 1pm in the the Good Shepherd Catholic Church Parrish Hall (72 Shepherd Way Frankfort, Ky 40601).
